We hereby inform you that our Korean consolidated subsidiary, Pure Surface Technology, Ltd. (the "Subsidiary"), has confirmed that certain servers were encrypted as a result of unauthorized access by a third party (a ransomware attack).
The incident has been reported to the relevant Korean authorities, and we have engaged external experts to assist with investigating the scope of the impact and implementing recovery measures.
While it is expected to take some time to fully ascertain the extent of the damage, the information currently confirmed is as follows.
We sincerely apologize for the significant concern and inconvenience this incident may have caused to our customers and other related parties.
1. Overview of the Incident
On January 10, 2026, the Subsidiary identified that various files stored on its servers and personal computers had been encrypted within its internal systems.
Subsequent investigation confirmed that the incident was caused by a ransomware attack.
2. Current Response Status
Immediately after becoming aware of the ransomware incident, we implemented necessary measures to prevent further damage, including blocking all external communications from the servers and suspending the operation of devices suspected of being compromised.
The Subsidiary's network has been fully isolated from the networks of other companies within the ULVAC Group. As of this time, no impact has been confirmed on the networks or business operations of any other ULVAC Group companies.
