Notice concerning acquisition of "DBJ Environmental Rating"

ULVAC, Inc. (Head Office: Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Setsuo Iwashita; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") announced today that it has received a "Advanced in terms of environmental friendliness" rating in the"DBJ Environmental Rating" conducted by Development Bank of Japan Inc. (hereafter, "DBJ")

The "DBJ Environmental Rating" is the world's first loan program that uses a screening system (rating system) developed by DBJ to evaluate a company's level of environmental management and select superior companies.

Based on its long-term vision "Vision 2032," the company contributes to the creation of a sustainable society by creating innovation through the comprehensive use of vacuum technology.

The following points were highly evaluated in this rating.

1. The Global Environmental Management Committee, which includes domestic and overseas group companies, formulates and implements capital investment plans based on the "GHG Action Plan" of each company to achieve the 2030 greenhouse gas emission reduction target. In addition, the group is making concerted efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its production processes by providing thorough training on energy conservation to improve operations.
2. "ULVAC Green Products" are environmentally friendly products that address resource conservation and resource recycling throughout the product lifecycle as well as climate change countermeasures. The company is focusing on solving social issues through its products and services.
3. In order to realize the company's vision, it has identified areas of growth and focus with the aim of expanding the areas of application of vacuum technology in the vision of the society in 2050, and the company is working on research and development of next-generation semiconductors to realize compact, lightweight storage batteries for the electrification of automobiles.
