Activities of ULVAC Group Companies in Japan

CSR Partner of Shonan Bellmare

ULVAC, Inc. carries out community-based CSR activities as a CSR partner of Shonan Bellmare, a local professional football club.
The game against F.C. Tokyo on November 6, 2011 was named “ULVAC Special Day” and company volunteers helped the game as administrative support staff.

ULVAC Logo is printed on the back of the warm-up jersey for regular-season game by Shonan Bellmare players before the games and by reserve players during their warm-up.

Tanbo (Rice Field) Project
community01ULVAC, Inc. and its group companies has taken the initiative in "Tanbo Project",with the cooperation of Chigasaki City in Kanagawa prefecture (where our head office and plant are located), Mr. Kazuyuki Nonaka (a farmer in Namegarya, Chigasaki City), The Shonan Research Institute at Bunkyo University,Chigasaki Trust team (Specified Nonprofit Corporation) since 2010.We carry out rice farm works from planting to harvesting together with university students and local people.
Holding vacuum demonstration classes and factory tours
ULVAC, Inc., conduct vacuum demonstrations, mainly for local public institutions, such as elementary schools, and hold factory tours. In Fiscal 2015, 300 people participated in a tour of the Chigasaki Headquarters and Factory. Going forward, we will continue to work to conduct dialogue with local residents, while deepening their understanding of ULVAC, and to contribute to the development of the next generation and local communities through vacuum demonstrations and factory tours.

Activities of Overseas ULVAC Group Companies

Parking lot security for the Malaysian "Bon Odori" festivities
In July 2016, ULVAC MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (UMY) participated in "Bon Odori" festivities held by the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and supported by the Selangor State Government, by acting as volunteer parking lot security staff. 18 UMY staff members supported the world's largest "Bon Odori" event, which had 36,000 participants, through such activities as guarding the parking lot and directing traffic around the venue, together with other member companies of "Sansui-kai", which is a subcommittee of the Japanese Chamber of Trade and Industry, Malaysia. We are contributing to the "Bon Odori" festival, which links the cultures of Malaysia and Japan, while deepening our exchanges with the local community.
Volunteer activities to assist with germination of rice seedlings in local villages
community04community04Ulvac Korea Precision, Ltd., provided volunteer staff to farmers who were short on labor in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. These volunteers provided support for rice farming in the areas surrounding the company, from preparing seedling trays to laying sheets in the fields.
