Notice on Our Total Repeal of Hazardous Substances

Notice on Our Total Repeal of Hazardous Substances Prohibited by RoHS Directive.

In the EU, the Restriction on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (televisions, washing machines, personal computers, copiers, vending machines, etc.) Regulations ("RoHS Directive") was established on February 13, 2003. This directive prohibits the use of six predefined substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB (polybrominated biphenyls), PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers)) in electrical and electronic equipment that will be put on the market from July 1, 2006 onwards.

ULVAC,Inc.,has been actively designing and procuring alternative technologies and products to avoid the use of those six predefined substances by RoHS directive. However, some products are excluded because they have no alternatives due to the suppliers' delay in taking action.
